For a country where allegations never stop appearing in the newspapers, it is surprising how little the topic is explored by national cinema. But some films show the scale that corrupt acts can take – and how corruption is rooted in the country. In today's article we separate 3 films that deal with the topic of corruption in the Brazilian scenario. Check out: Elite Troop 2 – The enemy is someone else (2010) “Tropa de Elite 2 – The Enemy is Now Another” came on the heels of the success of its predecessor, which portrayed drug violence in Rio de Janeiro. In the second film, however, the enemy is another, and bigger: corrupt politicians.
The film by director José Padilha features Wagner Moura in the role of Colonel Nascimento, who leaves BOPE to work at the Public Security Secretariat of Rio de Janeiro. In theaters, the public was thrilled with the scene in which Nascimento took Brother cell phone list revenge on a deputy who threatened his family. The film shows Rio politicians in alliance with militias. But the final scene opens the scope of criticism to the entire National Congress. Through much investigation, they uncovered the money laundering and bribery scheme involving Petrobrás executives, political parties, parliamentarians and construction companies. Controversial, the film is highly critical of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), exposing the facade of solidarity that would be nothing more than an excuse for corruption and fundraising.
